We are fully credentialled. We are licensed by CASA to operate drones for commercial purposes and our drone pilots have individual CASA accreditations.

Jason Vella
CO-FOUNDER, DIRECTOR
Jason is a Geomatics Engineer with a passion for Earth Sciences. Graduating from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Surveying, majoring in GPS and Geodesy Jason has worked in the Offshore Oil and Gas industry before working for the Australian Department of Defence. Jason combined his passion for the Earth Sciences and drones in order to bring innovative solutions to Australia’s Defence Force.

Jack Gooday
ENGINEER
Jack is a mechatronics engineering graduate from the Australian National University in Canberra and specialises in unmanned systems design and prototyping. Jack is a key member of our Engineering Team.

Callen Hardie
MECHATRONICS ENGINEER
A recent Mechatronics Engineering graduate from Monash University, Callen led the university’s student rocket research group, Callen will apply his project and engineering knowledge in Geodrones.

Glenn Alcock
CO-FOUNDER, CEO
Glenn is a Mechatronics Engineer with extensive Defence and Defence Industry experience. As co-founder and CEO, Glenn leads Geodrones’ growth of genuine sovereign capability in the field of unmanned systems.

Shaun Lee
INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER
Shaun is a Mechanical Engineer who has continued his studies and is currently completing a Bachelor of Industrial Design. Shaun is currently our in house product design engineer and concept artist.

Jonathan Smith
MECHANICAL ENGINEER
Finalising his PhD remotely from the University of Strathclyde, specialising in metal additive manufacturing, Jonathan will apply his experience in mechanical design, manufacturing and engineering management in Geodrones.

Pierson Moran
CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
Pierson is a Mechanical Engineer with interests in aircraft propulsion and computer systems. Pierson joined the Australian Regular Army and attended the Australian Defence Force Academy as a trainee Regimental Service Officer, graduating ADFA with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering. Pierson returned to civilian life in 2016 and has worked across a range of Defence projects as a contractor.

Akshay Vithal
AEROSPACE ENGINEER
A recent Aerospace Engineering graduate from The University of Sydney, Akshay’s role is to analyse Geodrones’ Aerial Vehicle design, performance, aerodynamics and stability.

Ben Claase
INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER
Ben is a graduate of Industrial Design from University of Canberra. Ben is a composite materials specialist with experience in the competitive automotive industry, and has been working in a rapid prototyping environment for the last 4 years.

Ayad Al Mahturi
TEAM LEAD CONTROL / AVIONICS
Ayad is a Mechatronics Engineer with interests in machine learning and control systems. Ayad has received his Bachelor and Masters of Mechatronics. He has completed a PhD in Electrical Engineering with a special focus on self-learning control approaches for autonomous systems at the UNSW Canberra.

Terence Wiseham
MECHANICAL ENGINEER
Terence has a Bachelor of Mechanical and Materials System Engineering from the Australian National University with experience in building information modelling, design and manufacturing. Terence will lead a range of mechanical engineering projects with Geodrones.
