Local innovator Geodrones Australia secures an impressive $1M in private funding from Canberra investors

Canberra-based drone innovators and developers, Geodrones Australia, has just secured a $1 million capital injection. The private investment comes as Geodrones Australia expands its work with industry and government, and explores new ways to bolster Australia’s Land, Sea and Air capability through pioneering technology.

Geodrones Australia, which was recently selected to represent Australia as part of “Team Defence Australia” at the US Department of Defence’s 2022 Sea, Air and Space conference, has grown from strength to strength since its humble beginnings in 2018. Its mission is to solve critical national security challenges and equip our Defence forces and national security agents with advanced unmanned drone capabilities.

Respected Canberra businessman, Hani Sidaros, led the private equity group who invested the funds and will now join Geodrones’ Board of Directors. “Drone technology has limitless potential – from supporting emergency workers during search and recovery efforts to fast-tracking the delivery of goods, particularly in remote and rural areas.

“Geodrones is operating at the very forefront of transformative drone technology, and we’re delighted to have had this opportunity to come on board”. Glenn Alcock, Co-Founder and CEO of Geodrones Australia, says the investment confirms the important work Geodrones Australia is doing and we look forward to the continued growth of the company.

“Securing $1 million in private capital funds from Canberra-based investors certainly validates the work we are doing and the progress we’ve made over the past 18 months. We are very excited to work with Hani who we know will bring a unique and valued perspective to the business moving forward.”
